Field Note #16 - What Belongs Here / a guided practice
Sep 24, 2026This week's Field Note is a guided seated meditation.
We begin with the breath—not by controlling it, but by finding some of its natural fluidity through the body.
The rocking of the sacrum.
The asymmetry of the breath.
The movement of air into the lungs.
The freedom in the head and neck.
The subtle fluid movements that are already happening.
From here, the meditation begins to open into a wider exploration.
We move into images of light and water, into the body as a living ecology—a whole ecosystem of fluid, flora and fauna, microbiome, communication and light.
And from within this living landscape, another question begins to emerge:
What belongs here?
What beliefs, patterns or energetics are part of our own living expression—and what might we no longer need to carry?
The meditation becomes an exploration of tending this inner ecology from a sovereign place: listening, discerning, and participating with the balancing and healing that is already happening.
This is one of the ways I love to enter these explorations.
We begin with something very simple.
The breath.
The body.
And then we follow where they lead.
